Happy 1st Birthday Harper

My daughter, Harper, recently turned 1. We wanted to do something special to mark the milestone so we had a small party with family and friends in my parents backyard.
I had so much fun planning the party and all the little details that went along with it!

For the Decor

I printed up all my favorite pictures from Harper's 1st year (and there were a lot to choose from).
I hung them on the porch wall with clothespins and hemp rope that I got at Michaels. It was so simple to do and was a great decoration that everyone was admiring.

I purchased robins egg blue tablecloths and used glass mason jars filled with sunflowers for the centerpieces.

Being that Fall is in full swing we had a table set up with apple cider and gave out personalized sugar pumpkins to Harper's friends as the party favor.

For the adults I created a "Make your own Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar", which was obviously a huge hit! (Who doesn't want a cocktail in hand while at a party with 20 kids running around?)

What 1st party is complete without a Candy Bar?
I got an array of pink and white candy and served them in glass vases of varying heights.

I ordered these adorable candy bags from Littlebeane Boutique on etsy
and the Candy Shop sign from Snappy Design

There is a big oak tree in the backyard so this jute and lace #1 sign I found at CM Handmade looked just adorable tied around it!

I spent the night before making homemade cupcakes.
I bought the shabby chic liners at The Kitchen Pantry and made my own colored frosting (check my previous post on how to make colored frosting)

Last, but definitely not least, the cake. I knew I wanted to have a pink ombre cake.  I recently saw one online (Pintrest, obviously!) that was perfect.  I went to Carousel Cakes located in Nanuet.  I showed them a picture of what I was thinking and they did an amazing job!
I purchased the adorable flag bunting at Little Kitten Homemade

The Birthday girl had the best time, which means all my hard work and planning was a success!

A special thanks to;
Holly of Holly Haffner Photography for taking all of the amazing photos.
My friend Lisa of Larkspur Studios who did all of the invites and paper signage.
